Key Office Responsibilities
The Key Office is responsible for managing access to all Salt Lake Community College buildings, rooms, cabinets, equipment, and vehicles through physical keys and electronic access.
Requesting Access
- Submit a Request Form: Available online (see lower right corner of the Key Office page) or in person at the Key Office.
- Required Signatures: All forms must be signed by the employee and their Director, Division Chair, Dean, or higher.
- Processing Time: Requests are typically fulfilled within 24–48 hours. Please submit at least 24 hours in advance.
- In-Person Pickup: Keys must be picked up by the requestor. At pickup, key holders will receive instructions on their responsibilities.
Pickup & Drop-Off Locations
Convenient drop-off and pickup points are available at most campuses and centers.
Key Holder Responsibilities
- Personal Responsibility: Individuals are accountable for all keys and access devices issued to them.
- Property of SLCC: Keys and electronic access devices remain the property of the College.
- No Sharing: Do not loan or give your keys or access cards to anyone except the Key Office.
- Return When Unneeded: Obsolete or unneeded keys/fobs/cards must be returned promptly for proper removal and disposal.
Lost & Found Keys
- Report Immediately: All lost or found keys should be reported to or turned in at the Key Office.
- Faculty Reminder: Please inform students each semester that lost/found keys can be claimed at the Key Office.
