Abstract

Demographics:

  • Race: There are some differences between campuses, but North and South regions as a whole are remarkably similar.
  • Gender: Campuses vary considerably, and South region campuses have a higher proportion of women.
  • Age: Average age is higher at Westpointe and Airport but the differences are not reflected at the regional level.
  • Pell eligibility: Jordan, Library, and Miller campuses have fewer Pell-eligible enrollments, while West Valley has more. This difference is carried through to the region.
  • Former concurrent: Airport, Library, and Westpointe have fewer former concurrent enrollment, while Jordan has more. This difference is carried through to the region.

While students from all over the valley attend Redwood and Online, students are more likely to attend smaller campuses closer to home.

On average, students take roughly five credit hours per semester at Redwood campus, and about one each at South City, Jordan, and SLCC Online.

In general, students attend classes at Redwood, Online, and perhaps one other campus during a single semester, and stray infrequently to additional locations. Students enrolled in smaller campuses tend to remain there.
