Abstract

Guest Student Overrides (**GSO**) represent an option for students who plan to enroll in courses at SLCC for only a short amount time. With a signed document from an instructor or professor from a separate institution which states that a student has met a given set of prerequisites, they are allowed to pay an extra fee to enroll in and attend classes to earn credit. The concern is that the standard of meeting prerequisites may not be rigid enough to ensure that guest students are successful in the courses they take from SLCC. The following report investigates what we've seen in the data.
