Department Research Block Grant Application

Proposal Deadline

Feb. 16, 2018

Program Description

A culture of scholarship and innovation is crucial to the achievement of SLCC’s strategic goals. To that end, the Offices of Sponsored Projects and Faculty Development are seeking to encourage multiple faculty and staff from within one department or from different departments to collaborate on research and grant activities. Further, Department Research Block Grants (DRBG) aim to bring together individuals from different departments doing similar or complementary work resulting in more effective organization and collaboration across divisions.

DRBG aim to align with or further other formal initiatives at the College.

Each successful applicant team will conduct a research project or develop a grant proposal. Teams will be required to attend a series of trainings on conducting research or on grant proposal development, depending on the project. Research projects that focus on the scholarship of teaching and learning (SoTL) are highly encouraged.
