Supervisor Essentials Certificate Program is designed to provide SLCC’s leaders with the knowledge, skills, and behaviors needed for being a successful supervisor in our diverse campus community. This Certificate is required for all new supervisors and must be repeated every two years. The program contains six modules and runs from 9 A.M. - 3 P.M.

All Sessions are held in the Oak Room, STC, Taylorsville Redwood Campus

9:15am - 10am Module 1: Managing Performance
10am - 10:45am Module 2: Effective Employee Relations
10:45am - 11:30am Module 3: Understanding SLCC’s FMLA & ADA Process
11:30am - 12:15pm LUNCH
12:15pm - 12:30pm Employee Wellness
12:30pm - 1:15 pm Module 4: EO & Title IX Policy Review
1:15pm - 2:00pm Module 5: Change Management
2:00pm - 3:00pm Safe Hire*

*Not required if you have previously completed Safe Hire in the last two years

Every Tuesday: 1 P.M. - 2 P.M.

  • Assertive Communication (virtual): July 29
  • Conflict Resolution (in-person, TB 225D-B): Aug 5
  • Leading Effective One-on-Ones (virtual): Aug 12
  • Delegation (in-person, TB 225D-B): August 19

The Core Manager Training covers key topics to ensure supervisors are well-prepared to lead their teams successfully. Supervisors can register for one session, all four, in any order to enhance their leadership effectiveness.
