Dear David,

Spring has sprung and scholarships have been awarded for spring 2018 academic semester at Salt Lake Community College. Thanks to you and other donors, students received nearly $320,000 in scholarships for the past semester alone! We feel incredibly appreciative of your support of our students and the scholarships program at SLCC.

I wanted to give you an update about our annual Scholarship Appreciation Luncheon, which was held on March 1 in the Oak room. Our theme this year was “Your Reason,” which set the stage for a joyful celebration of gratitude and provided a great opportunity for students to learn more about your reasons for supporting SLCC. We hope you also enjoyed learning more about our students and their reasons for being at SLCC and how they are benefitting from their scholarships. If you weren’t able to attend, we missed you and you weren’t forgotten. The photos and video from the luncheon are available on our website at www.slcc.edu if you search “scholarship luncheon.”

We want you to know that you are incredibly important to us. Your support of our scholarship program is the reason we are able to provide opportunities for our students and the Salt Lake community through education. We also want to learn more about you and your reasons for supporting us. Enclosed is a short survey that we would greatly appreciate you taking the time to fill out and return in the envelope. It will help us to learn more about what we need to do to keep your support, and we’d like to do a better job recognizing you and your contribution.

Lastly, our students would like to thank you for your continued support. Enclosed you will find their thank you letters to you for your scholarship. Our students are the reason why we want to say “Thank You” from the bottom of our hearts to you.

Dear SLCC Staff Association,

I cannot be more grateful and honored to be one of the recipients of the Staff Association Scholarship. Through your charitable support, I have been able to relief the burden of my financial difficulties. Having this peace of mind will let me focus on school completely.

I am a computer science student at Salt Lake Community College. I am very passionate about software development and programming. The image on the right is my most recent project “Beat Machine” in where you can create drum patterns and play them. Currently, I am working towards an associate’s degree and I will eventually transfer to the University of Utah to complete my bachelor’s degree. I am also planning to build work experience in summer internships.

Working for SLCC has provided me a better work/study balance in my lifestyle. I enjoy helping students and the work-relationships I have built.
