Amy helps our team provide high-impact student support services while also helping colleagues learn and grow. This past month she collaborated with the Biology department to create a library unit which will help ensure that almost all stem pathway students receive information literacy instruction early in their time at SLCC. Brent has demonstrated adaptability and commitment during a time of change. Bret has embraced the challenges with a positive attitude and willingness to teach, learn and ensure a smooth transition. Charlotte is dynamic, charismatic, hardworking and takes time to connect with everyone. Charlotte advocated for more resource booths so students could access SLCC resources. She is a great team member she is a thoughtful leader and deserves to be recognized for the incredible work she does. - Erica Gudiño, Librarian - Library Services
Erica took on the edible books event this year nearly last minute. The event was a huge success and there was a lot of positive feedback from students. This was a significant allocation of Erica's time beyond her already large portfolio of obligations - and was a great chance to highlight some of the cool things our students are doing at the College. - Heather Lynes, Coordinator - Scheduling &Academic Sup Services
Heather works very hard to make sure the different spaces available to college and outside groups are managed well. She responds to requests diligently and with an eye toward customer service, while protecting the college. I really enjoying working with her and appreciate all that she does to help. - Imogen Curtis, Specialist I - Testing Services
Imogen has always stepped up. Since ran the Miller Testing Center by herself, then transferred to the South City Testing Center when Miller shut down. Imogen has covered for the morning shift, pulling double shifts, and stepping up when the help is needed. She has done more work than she must to help keep things in the testing center running smoothly and taking on a leadership role. - Isabel Phillips, Specialist II - Library Services
Isabel has helped our library create a Halloween escape room that uses festive theming to teach students about library resources and services. This work is so important for student success! - Keith Slade, Librarian - Library Services
Keith has stepped up for our team over the past month as we have had a number of folks out of office. Keith has taken on extra work while also maintaining a positive attitude. This effort is so important for student success! - Laif Erickson, Specialist - Information Technology
Laif saves the day when we have issues with Zoom Rooms and has not only resolved technical challenges but also has taken the time to train many of us with patience and clarity. Thank to Laif we've navigated through IT hurdles. Layla has gone above to help prepare for a conference at SLCC. Despite it not being her department, she prepared the space got tech support, the food and so much more She has helped enthusiastically with skill in events planning. Seini is dedicated, articulate, agile, and a transformational leader. She planned a purposeful retreat focused on getting answers. She sends daily message filled with encouragement. Seini will listen with empathy and provide support. Seini's ability to balance strategic vision with personal care makes her a tremendous leader who elevates everyone around her. - Shannon McWilliams, Senior Director - Planning and Implementation
Shannon is AMAZING! I have worked with her for 14 years and not once has she been anything but positive, thoughtful, inclusive, collaborative, and student focused. We all owe her a debt of gratitude for her hard work making sure our students are cared for, have an incredible experience at SLCC, and successful at achieving their dreams. Zaidyn has always stepped up when it was needed and willing to help out his coworkers, even staying late or covering other shifts in the academic side of the testing. He is always striving to keep things together, remain calm in stressful situations, and goes above and beyond.
