Andres Uscategui, Specialist I - Student Support Services
Andres Uscategui plays a vital role as part of the TRIO team providing support by offering personalized guidance and ensures that students have the tools to progress toward their educational goals. In addition, he engages with SLCC community through various outreach efforts. Andres makes everyone feel valued and plays a key role in making SLCC a better place to work.

*Angela Thomas, Campus Store Manager - Bookstore
UPS delivered our “extremely urgent” package to the incorrect building and didn’t note the last name who signed for it. I made a lot of calls and finally reached Angela. She walked the package over to me which was so appreciated!!! Even though she is not a SLCC employee I trust the Staff Association will recognize her for this assist. Thank you, Angela!

Anita Mitchell, Analyst 1 - Dean Science/Math
Anita is one of those behind-the-scenes geniuses, dedicated to making grant awards run smoothly. Her attention to detail, knowledge of federal/state compliance, and ability to see potential audit risks make sure that faculty and staff stay out of hot water. Her work is invaluable to the college, and everyone who works with her loves having her on the team.

*Daniel Pittam, Specialist 2 - Student Services
Daniel has gone above and beyond his job description by doing anything in the office and covering the morning shift when needed. He is training a new employee and he is new himself. He makes the students comfortable and helps the office run smoothly. Thank you for all you do for SLCC!

Eric Zavala, Specialist I - Student Support Services
Eric Zavala works with TRIO to ensure 1st generation and low-income students receive the support they need. His roll is instrumental for SLCC. Eric ensures that students have the tools and info to progress to their educational goals. Eric is involved with various outreach programs. He fosters inclusivity and a positive campus culture and makes SLCC a better place to work and learn.

Eva Andrews, Specialist III - Testing Services
Eva always comes in early and often stays late. She gives 150% while at work and always does her best to help students feel comfortable and at ease in the testing center which is hard to do when students come in stressed out.

*Josh Pratt, Specialist 2 - Registration
Josh is definitely a star in the SLCC Community! He is kind, compassionate, funny, hard-working, and an exemplary staff member. Josh takes the time to truly listen to people. He goes the extra mile to do a thorough job. He is the first to follow up on projects or how you are doing personally. He is a friend to all. Thank you, Josh, for all you do!

Keith Slade, Librarian 2 - Library Services
Keith Slade is the most knowledgeable and helpful employee on campus. He is helpful to all students who look to him for help and directs each student to the library resource they need based on the type of research they are doing. He works well with other departments and does lots of volunteer work for the school such as helping with campus events. Please give Mr. Slade the recognition he deserves. Thx

Kris Parkinson, Specialist II - Division of Allied Health
Kris embodies exceptional dedication and proficiency within the Div. of Allied Health. Because of her meticulous attention to detail, it ensures that all requirements for the college and clinical partners are appropriate and accurate. Her exceptional communication abilities and unwavering commitment to excellence make her and invaluable asset to the organization.

Matheus Silva, Specialist II – Division of Allied Health
In his role Matheus shines brightly with his commitment to our faculty and students. He has a positive attitude and strong work ethic. His friendly demeanor has encouraged students to stop by and say hi and stay for a short study break. He has set a high standard for our division and has an invaluable impact to the team.

*Sindel Mendez De La Cruz, Specialist II - Career Services
Sindel exemplifies exceptional professionalism and warmth, and she creates a welcoming environment for patients and students putting patients at ease. Her dedication to providing exceptional service has been instrumental in our recent increase in community members coming to the SLCC Dental Hygiene Clinic for care. She is truly indispensable to our team!

Wendee Shorter, Specialist 3 - Dental Hygiene
Wendee demonstrates exemplary leadership and dedication within the Dental Hygiene program. She exceeds all expectations in her daily work, and her problem-solving has streamlined how everything runs smoothly on the clinic. She is instrumental in marketing and community outreach efforts. Wendee’s commitment to the college and the program has been instrumental in maintaining the clinics reputation and to fostering student success.

*Zac Holt, Manager 1 - Nursing
Zac embodies so much behind the scenes work with students setting them up for success in the clinical space and putting forth professionalism with the clinical partners within the Health Care community. Zax’s hard work, dedication, and ingenuity is what I believe a good Staff member should be and is an amazing coworker to have. Thank you for all you do for the Nursing Department!
