Christina McWhinnie, CHES

Christina McWhinnie (she/her/hers) oversees the Employee Wellness Program and is a Certified Health Education Specialist (CHES). She loves assisting people in becoming the best version of themselves and thriving in their individual lives through holistic health and wellness. Her favorite things are traveling, adventuring into the great outdoors, and riding her bike to live music shows. She has had the privilege of traveling internationally, exploring different cultures, and learning about Public Health within these communities. She has had various experiences from studying preventative healthcare in Cuba, to living in Botswana, Africa teaching HIV/AIDS+ teens about sexual healthcare and their unique nutritional needs. She is currently on the SLCC JED Committee, and is passionate about supporting the mental health of our employees and students. 

Bronwyn DeForest

Bronwyn DeForest

Bronwyn DeForest is a Utah native and received her associates of science in exercise science from SLCC in 2022. She is continuing her education at the University of Utah and will graduate in December 2024 with a bachelors of science in kinesiology. Bronwyn loves health and fitness and believes that feeling good in all domains of health is the most important part. She really enjoys empowering those around her to feel good in all those domains so that they can be the best versions of themselves. When she’s not busy with school she enjoys camping, hiking, and watching hockey.

Kadee Willie

Kadee Willie

Kadee Willie has worked at SLCC since 2016 as a Personal Trainer, member of the Employee Wellness Team and Adjunct Faculty for the Exercise Science Department. She loves working with people and promoting health and wellness. She’s passionate about supporting others in making and working towards goals. Her hobbies include yoga, cycling, art, travel and spending time with loved ones.

Kevin Nguyen, MPH, CPH

Kevin Nguyen, MPH, CPH

Kevin Nguyen (he/him) is a resident of West Valley, child of an immigrant family, community advocate, and avid outdoorsman. He was born and raised here in Salt Lake City, where he attended the University of Utah for both his graduate and an undergraduate degree in Public Health and Exercise Science. Kevin believes that everyone has such a potential to change the lives of others for the better and works to serve his community wherever possible. Growing up through the “struggles”, he personally knows the challenges and understands the power of community when everyone comes together to help one another. When he isn’t involved in his work, he spends his time exploring our wonderful mountains on his mountain bike, helping to lead rescue operations with Search and Rescue, cooking food, and of course, playing video games.

Lyndsey Wilcken

Lyndsey Wilcken

Lyndsey Wilcken is a NASM CPT, Pn1 Nutrition Coach, and 200 HR Certified Yoga Practitioner. She has also studied health through the lens of Psychology and loves to explore the mind/body connection and empower those around her to find the most nourished versions of themselves. Before she started her career in the health industry she spent her time homeschooling her 3 kids and falling in love with lifting. She was raised all over the southwest and loves spending her time outside in the mountains or with her 3 teens and friends, having a good philosophical discussion. Her hobbies include hiking, biking, playing the guitar and singing, dancing, cooking, baking sourdough, or just trying something new.

Teylor Soto

Teylor Soto

Teylor Soto is an ACSM Certified Personal Trainer since 2017 and is continuing her education in Exercise Science. Along with being a part of the Employee Wellness Team at SLCC she dedicates her time as an Instructor of Women’s self defense for SASSGO. She is passionate about helping and encouraging those close to her and in her community to build a healthy relationship with themselves through health and wellness.
