This is a toll-free acess for you or a dependent in crisis. Crisis counselors are available by Phone, 24 hours a day, 365 days year.

HINGE HEALTH - REMOTE PHYSICAL THERAPY

UPDATE - Starting July 1, 2024, we will be offering employer provided physical therapy through Hinge Health

All full-time employees with Health Insurance through the college are eligibile to enroll in Hinge Health physical therapy services.

This benefit offers expert, therapy car support if you are struggling with jont and muscle pain through digital exercise programs and 1-on-1 support.

Services include, but are not limited to the following:

  • Personalized, free exercise therapy sessions starting as little as 10 minutes at a time from the comfort of your home.
  • High-tech motion tracking and instant feedback to guide stretches.
  • Helps employees recover from surgery pains, muscular-skeletal issues or on-going aches and pains.

Livongo Logo

Livongo for Diabetes, a health benefit is being offered at no cost to you. The Livongo for Diabetes Program makes living with diabetes easier by providing you with a connected meter, strips, and coaching.

This program is offered to employees and dependents 18+ with diabetes and covered under the Regence plan.

VOLUNTARY SHORT-term & LONG-TERM Disability Insurance

Voluntary Short-Term Disability

All full-time employees are eligible to enroll in voluntary, short-term disability each Open Enrollment or Life Event. 
This benefit offers up to 17 weeks of coverage, due to a serious injury, illness, or pregnancy, and covers 66.67% of your salary while you are out on short-term leave.
Benefit Highlights:
  • Sickness or injury benefits begin on the 15th day and your benefit duration is 17 weeks.
  • $25-$1,000 Maximum payout while on voluntary, short-term leave.
  • You may use your leave balance towards the remainng 33.33% unpaid salary while you are out on leave.
  • Evidence of Insurability (EOI) is not required for those enrolling during their initial, new hire enrollment.

Employer-Provided Long-Term Diability

All full-time employees automatically receive employer-paid Long-Term Disability.

This benefit offers long-term coverage, due to a serious injury or illness, and covers 66.67% of your salary while you are out on long-term leave.

Benefit Highlights:

  • Long-Term Disability is an employer provided benefit.
  • Provides benefits for both work-related and non-work-related causes.
  • Cover 66.67% of your income, up to $8,500/month

Benefits and services outlined below are available to all part-time, regular employees of Salt Lake Community College. For more information regarding any of your benefits, please contact the Human Resources Office at 801-957-4704, 801-957-3877, or 801-957-4213.  

Athletic Events

Free tickets for staff and faculty. Discount tickets available for guests.  Additional discounts are available for those who join the Bruin Club.

Automotive

The Automotive department will work on your car for the cost of the parts for such things as tune-ups, brakes, and alignments. Call the department to schedule 801-957-5346. Scheduling is contingent upon the needs of the class.

Copy/Mail Services/Local Fax

Copy Center services are available at Redwood and South City Campuses for personal copying at competitive prices. Mail services are also available at the Redwood and South City Campuses. These services include mailing of personal packages and letters, and purchasing of stamps, envelopes, etc. Fax services are also available.

Discount for Cell Phone

Some cell phone companies offer a discount to Salt Lake Community College employees. Please search your provider’s website to receive more information. Verizon, Sprint, AT&T: www.att.com/wireless/slcc, T-Mobile, etc.

Discount through College Store

A discount is offered on certain items, such as clothing, seasonal items, supplies, and general books. The discount is not available on the purchase of cards, candy, textbooks, computers, and software. However, the computers and software are competitively priced. 

Discounted Personal Software Purchases

Family Medical Leave

Employees are eligible to apply for Family Medical Leave. Other criteria as outline in College Policy will need to be met before leave can be granted. This is an unpaid leave for up to 12 weeks. For more information, visit the Leave / ADA website.

Grand Theatre

Part-time employees with a One Card, can purchase tickets up to four tickets at 1/2 of the regular price for shows the Grand Theatre produces. The Grand also has a Preview Wednesday performance for every season production; tickets are half-price for everyone. Outside productions appearing at the Grand do not qualify for this discount. For more information call the Grand Theatre Box Office at 801-957-3322.

Recreation Activities (LAC Facilities, Sports)

Recreation facilities are free for employees and semester or yearly passes are available at a discount for family members at the Taylorsville/Redwood Campus LAC and the Bruin Fitness Center at South City. Contact the Recreation Office at 801-957-3801 for more information.

Library Services

Employees may check items out of the SLCC libraries with College ID. Internet access is also available through computers in the College Computer Labs.

Planned Giving

Are you interested in helping SLCC students achieve their goals and dreams? You can designate SLCC Foundation as a beneficiary on your life insurance or retirement account and a percentage or portion of those proceeds can fund scholarships, a specific program, or other student assistance. UTA Pass

Your OneCard can be utilized as an unlimited pass for Utah Transit Authority services throughout the Salt Lake Valley. The benefit is optional and free for registered staff and faculty. UTA services included in the pass include buses, TRAX, FrontRunner and the S-Line. Seasonal ski buses and the Park City to Salt Lake City bus are not included. The OneCard will act as an electronic fare card.

Educational Benefits

Educational Reimbursement

Salt Lake Community College provides an educational reimbursement benefit to qualified full-time employees. Employees are eligible who have been employed on a regular, full-time basis for at least one year prior to the first day of class. Eligible institutions include any accredited college/university in the United States. Employees may be reimbursed for expenses incurred for tuition and mandatory fees. Reimbursement is limited to $2000 per employee for course work in each fiscal year.

      • Eligibility: Immediately upon enrollment
      • Authorization: The Department Supervisor verifies eligibility and approves the online exemption/waiver form.
    • Staff and Faculty Dependent
      • Eligibility: Immediately upon employment of employee
      • Authorization: The Department Supervisor verifies eligibility and approves the online exemption/waiver form.
  • Adjunct Faculty and Dependents
    • Eligibility: Adjunct Faculty must have finished teaching their first semester and have an active teaching assignment for the semester for which the Exemption/Waiver is being submitted. An active teaching assignment during the summer semester is not required.
    • Authorization: The Associate Dean verifies eligibility and signs the paper waiver form. The completed form is either turned in to the Human Resources Department, AAB 201, or scanned and emailed to HR@slcc.edu.
  • Part-time Hourly Employees
    • Eligibility: Part-time hourly employees are eligible after two years of consecutive employment. Work Study employees do not qualify for a tuition benefit.
    • Authorization: The completed form is either turned in to the Human Resources Department, AAB 201, or scanned and emailed to HR@slcc.edu. The Human Resources Benefits Department verifies eligibility and signs the Exemption.
  • Retirees (10 or more years) and Dependents
    • Eligibility: Retirees of the College and their dependents are eligible if the retiree has completed ten (10) or more years of continuous full-time service immediately before retirement.
    • Authorization: The completed form is either turned in to the Human Resources Department, AAB 201, or scanned and emailed to HR@slcc.edu. The Human Resources Benefits Department verifies eligibility and signs the Exemption.
  • Board of Trustees, SLCC Assistant Attorney General and Their Eligible Dependents
    • Upon service to College
    • Authorization: The completed form is either turned in to the Human Resources Department, AAB 201, or scanned and emailed to HR@slcc.edu. The Human Resources Benefits Department verifies eligibility and signs the Exemption.
  • Non-Credit Courses

    •  Non-credit courses usually do not qualify for a waiver. An individual requesting a non-credit waiver should contact the program coordinator. Registration for non-credit courses requires the approval of the program coordinator prior to the first session of class. For information regarding program coordinators, call 801-957-5200.
